About the Role
Boost Educational Services is a small, faith-based hybrid homeschool program serving students in grades K–8. We are looking for a warm, flexible, and patient Math Teacher & Tutor to join our team. This position is primarily focused on elementary math (K–5), with the possibility of some middle school math support. You will also have the opportunity to tutor students 1-on-1 in math and other subjects.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with struggling learners in a small, supportive Christian environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach elementary math (mostly K–5) in small group settings
- Provide 1-on-1 tutoring in math and other subjects as needed
- Work with students who have learning differences (ADHD, dyslexia, autism, etc.)
- Use homeschool curricula
- Prepare review activities and reinforce previously taught material
- Evaluate student progress and complete simple progress reports
- Communicate regularly and kindly with parents
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and Christ-centered classroom environment
Note: Lesson planning is not extensive. You will primarily be following pre-prepared plans, reinforcing concepts and helping students practice and master skills using provided curriculum.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Tuesday & Thursday: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Tutoring : As scheduled
- Opportunity for additional tutoring hours and after-school program facilitation
Pay
- Teaching rate: Starting at $16.50 per hour, with pay increases as you continue with the program
- Tutoring rate: $22 per hour
- Regular pay raises are offered for those who show consistency
Requirements
- Must be a practicing Christian who is comfortable integrating faith into the classroom in a natural and age-appropriate way
- Strong understanding of elementary math concepts
- Patient, kind, and able to work well with students who struggle academically or have learning differences
- Good communication skills and comfortable interacting with parents
- Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is required
