Elegant retirement community is seeking a full-time Line Cook. Join our professional, fun, and friendly Kitchen team! This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week. Must be available to work weekdays, holidays and any shifts within the hours of 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. Successful candidates will be dependable, detail oriented, self-motivated, and be able to work swiftly in a busy kitchen environment. Must be able to work well unsupervised, have a good attitude, and work well in a team.
Position Summary: The Line Cook sets up production schedules for staff, understand and follow written and verbal instruction from the Executive Chef, prepares and presents high quality food by following excellent cooking and preparation methods, and supervises the kitchen in the Executive Chef and Sous Chef's absence. Prepares entrees, specialty salads, washes and slices fruits and vegetables, and organizes and stocks salad bar items. Assists with overall kitchen cleanliness and organization, including walk-in cooler, store room, dish room, and related areas. Works lunch and dinner on the front line and is responsible for preparing seasonal menu food selections.
Strong applicants must enjoy working around seniors and is able to work individually as well as within a team.
