About CN Studios
CN Studios is a video production and content creation studio in St. Louis helping businesses and professionals create professional video, podcast, and digital content.
We believe creating great content should be easier than expected. Our clients aren't professional actors or presenters, and many aren't completely comfortable in front of a camera. We provide technical expertise, guidance, and supportive environment that help them relax, communicate naturally, and create content they're proud of.
About the Role
We're looking for a Studio Assistant who wants to be part of a professional production environment and is willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
This is a general support position, so the work will vary. You might help prepare a studio before a client arrives, assist a videographer during a production, organize equipment, reset a studio after a session, run an errand, or take care of one of the many small things that keep a production company and studio running smoothly.
You don't need extensive professional production experience for this position. Some familiarity with video, podcasts, or other production work is helpful, but we're more interested in finding someone who is reliable, resourceful, organized, comfortable around people, and interested in developing their skills.
What You'll Do
- Assist producers, videographers, production assistants, and other team members as needed
- Help prepare studios and production spaces before client sessions
- Assist with production setup and breakdown
- Move, organize, and properly store equipment and supplies
- Help keep studios clean, organized, and client-ready
- Assist during podcast, video, and other studio productions
- Help prepare and test equipment before productions
- Welcome or assist clients and guests when needed
- Run production-related errands or help with general studio tasks
- Follow established procedures and checklists
- Complete assigned training and work toward additional responsibilities
- Pitch in when something needs to get done
What We're Looking For
- An interest in video production, podcasting, content creation, or related work
- Reliable and punctual
- Organized and attentive to details
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable around different types of people
- Willing to take responsibility for assigned tasks and follow through
- Able to follow instructions and established procedures without cutting corners
- Comfortable asking questions when something isn't clear
- Resourceful and willing to look for answers and solutions
- Open to feedback
- Comfortable with a role where the work can change from one day to the next
- Motivated to independently develop new skills and qualify for additional responsibilities
- Willing to help with both production work and the less glamorous tasks that are part of running a studio
- Production, editing, audio, design, or social media experience is a plus, but extensive professional experience is not required.
Who Will Enjoy This Position
You'll probably enjoy working at CN Studios if you like variety, and like being part of a team where everyone contributes.
We're a small company, so you won't spend every day doing the same task. You might help prepare for a podcast recording, assist during a video shoot, organize equipment, organize or prepare the studio, reset a studio set, run an errand, or take care of something unexpected that needs attention.
We're looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, takes pride in doing even small jobs well, and wants to become someone the rest of the team can depend on.
You should also enjoy working with people. You won't initially have much responsibility for directing or working independently with clients, but you'll be part of their experience at CN Studios. Being friendly, helpful, professional, and easy to work with matters.
Professional Development & Career Paths
This position is designed to provide an entry point into CN Studios with multiple opportunities for advancement.
CN Studios offers a structured professional development program with training materials, videos, SOPs, independent study, hands-on experience, and certifications that allow team members to develop new skills and qualify for additional responsibilities.
Where you go from the Studio Assistant position can depend on your interests and strengths.
You may choose to develop toward Production Assistant, then Videographer / Editor, and potentially Producer. Someone who develops a stronger interest in post-production may choose to pursue an Editor path instead. Or you may choose to simply be the best Studio Assistant you can be.
If you're looking for an opportunity to get your foot in the door, take your professional development seriously, and build toward a career in video production, we'd like to hear from you.
