POSITION SUMMARY
A private duty home care scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules of caregivers and clients to ensure that each client receives timely and appropriate care. The role acts as a central communication hub, fielding requests from clients, families, and staff, and resolving conflicts to minimize service disruptions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Scheduling and coordination: Match caregivers to clients based on a variety of factors, including the client's needs, the caregiver's availability and skill set, and travel distance.
2. Scheduling and billing: Enter relevant scheduling, billing and payroll information into the Wellsky database system for billing and payroll processing.
3. Client communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and their families regarding scheduling, changes, and service issues. Excellent customer service is essential. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients and families to ensure continuity of care.
4. Caregiver management: Communicate schedules and updates to caregivers, handle their questions and concerns, and manage call-outs and last-minute changes.
5. Record keeping: Accurately enter and maintain staff and client information in the Wellsky scheduling database.
6. Problem-solving: Act as a flexible and creative problem-solver to address scheduling conflicts and unexpected issues to ensure continuity of care.
7. On-call support: Participate in an on-call scheduling and rotation to address after-hours and weekend scheduling concerns, challenges and emergencies.
8. Compliance and quality assurance: Ensure that schedules and care plans adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA.
9. Administrative tasks: Perform general office duties, such as answering phones and processing paperwork, as needed.
10. Supervision and mentoring: Assists with the supervision, instruction, development, counseling and performance evaluation of field staff.
11. Education and training: Participates in the onboarding of new field staff, in in-service education, quality improvement, care coordination and other staff meetings as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31,200.00 - $36,400.00 per year
