Reports to: Pharmacy Owner/Pharmacist on duty
Job Description
Summary/Objective: This policy describes the job description and qualifications of the Pharmacy Cashier.
Essential Functions: The Pharmacy Cashier supports the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) by ensuring that the Pharmacy is clean and organized and that customers receive their completed orders in a timely, professional manner.

Knowledge of operation of equipment, such as pharmacy computer systems and cash register, and the ability to use them
Ability to extract relevant information from prescription forms by reading and understanding the content

Accuracy and attention to detail
Must have a strong sense of urgency and willing to move with purpose
Ability to preserve confidential information
Self-motivated to see tasks and perform them when needed
Adhere to pharmacy laws and guidelines, including annual completion of store-provided compliance training
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a retail setting.

Ability to work during store hours
Must be able to communicate clearly with customers in person and on the phone
Must be able to use the computer/register
May be required to lift supplies up to 20 pounds
Must be able to read fine print.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and hours of work are generally between 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM Mon. – Fri. and 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM Sat.
Travel: Local travel for deliveries may be required, but not necessary for position. Travel will be reimbursed according to company policy.
Required Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Education and Experience
At least one year of work in a cashier position
High school diploma
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: None required for this position.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Proof of identity and citizenship and/or the right to work in the United States.
Completion of compliance training within first 30 days of work. (Training provided and paid for by company)
Must be able to pass drug test and/or background check
