The Franklin Academy is an independent, nonprofit K-8 STEM school in Bellingham, Washington. Our mission is to develop confident, capable students through strong academics, structured classrooms, and meaningful relationships.
With small class sizes, clear expectations, and an established curriculum, our teachers are able to focus on instruction and student growth while maintaining a sustainable work pace.
We are seeking an Elementary School Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Role
As an Elementary School Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, grade-level instruction aligned with curriculum standards.
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning through engaging classroom experiences.
- Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged.
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and families.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive, mission-driven school culture.
- Maintain professional communication with families, colleagues, and school leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Washington State teaching certificate (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably mid to upper elementary
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A student-centered approach to teaching and learning
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous professional growth
- Interest in or experience with STEM education is preferred

Pay: $52,022.00 - $83,901.08 per year
