Immediate opening for an Associate Research Scientist with Andrew Smyth at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering & Applied Science, Department of Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics and Principal Investigator for the NSF Center for Smart Streetscapes and Vibration Monitoring Projects for the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as EMS Optimization for the FDNY. The successful candidate will conduct leading-edge research in infrastructure sensing, data-driven simulation and modeling, with the following responsibilities:
· Integration of technologies and research products to build applications;
· Recommending technologies to support projects;
· Executing software engineering tasks;
· Developing and managing detailed project schedules and work plans;
· Mentoring;
· Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including engineers, urban planners, emergency response service managers and art conservators.
PhD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Work experience in academia and/or industry.
