About the Role
Not your typical AGE role! Join our team supporting military firefighter training by maintaining mocked aircraft, air compressors, fire ladders, and facility support systems. This unique position blends traditional AGE skills with hands-on maintenance of training and support equipment that keeps our Fire School operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on mocked aircraft equipment, air compressors, fire ladders, and other training devices.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems on AGE and facility support equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to maintain operational readiness of all training systems.
- Record maintenance and inspection actions accurately using AFTO Forms 244 or electronic tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with company, OSHA, AFOSH, and customer safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of training and facility systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AGE or aircraft trainer maintenance (military or civilian).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, work cards, and technical orders.
- Professional, courteous, and effective communication with training personnel and customers.
- Ability to work in varied environments, from indoor facilities to outdoor training areas.
- Eligible for required security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience maintaining compressed air systems, facility support systems, or firefighter training devices.
- Familiarity with AFTO Forms 244 and computer-based maintenance tracking systems.
Working Conditions
This role involves a variety of working environments, from controlled indoor facilities to outdoor training areas exposed to weather conditions. Noise, dust, and other elements may require proper protective equipment.
