Position Summary:
Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans machine by studying work orders, blueprints, plans, materials, specifications, and machine parameters.

Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting tool registers, calculating requirements, including basic math.

Load machine with work pieces

Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.

Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, sharpening, and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.

Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience with CNC Robotics is required

Written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of properties of metal and other materials
-
Knowledge of basic shop mathematics.

Experience in heavy structural fabrication.
-
Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings and welding symbols.

Proficient in effective operation of welding equipment.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time.
-
Ability to occasionally pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment, or materials 50 lbs. or less.

Ability to withstand occasional bending, squatting, or crouching.

Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material.

Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
