Senior Tax Accountant
Up to $95,000 + Bonus
Not everyone wants the structure of a mid or large CPA firm.
Some people genuinely enjoy the feel of a smaller office. Knowing the clients. Being part of a close knit team. Getting involved in a bit of everything rather than sitting in one narrow lane.
That is exactly what this role offers.
This independent CPA firm of around 20 people is looking for a Senior Tax & Accountant to join the team.
They are looking for someone who enjoys both the technical tax and accounting side of the work and wants to be part of a firm where people tend to stay.
The client base is broad, made up primarily of closely held businesses and individuals, which keeps the work varied. You will be involved in both tax and accounting work, building relationships with clients and becoming a trusted part of their wider picture rather than only seeing one piece of the process.
This probably is not the role for someone chasing rapid promotions through multiple management layers or wanting the structure of a much larger firm.
But if you enjoy variety, like being challenged technically, and prefer the relationship side of public accounting, there is plenty here to keep you engaged.
Because that is often the reality of a good smaller firm. You may not have layers of management above you, but you get broader exposure, closer client relationships, and work that keeps you thinking rather than repeating the same thing every day.
The environment itself is a big part of what makes this different.
Small, collaborative, and genuinely down to earth. The sort of team that gets together for happy hour drinks, where people know each other properly, and yes, occasionally there is a dog in the office too.
This is mainly an onsite role because collaboration and being around the team matters here. But they are also realistic. If you have an appointment, need flexibility around life, or need to adjust your hours, there is trust and understanding rather than clock watching.
A few things worth knowing:
- Senior level tax and accounting role with hands on exposure across both areas
- Broad client base of businesses and individuals keeping the work varied
- Independent CPA firm of around 20 people with a close knit feel
- Mainly onsite, with flexibility and trust around hours when needed
- Technical tax and accounting work that keeps things varied and challenging
- Happy hour drinks, collaborative culture, and a genuinely personal feel
- Salary up to $95,000 for the right person plus discretionary bonus
- If you enjoy the feel of a smaller firm, like variety, and want work that keeps you challenged without losing the personal side of public accounting, this is the sort of environment where people tend to settle in and stay.
