Growing bookkeeping firm (over 4 years old) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper Manager to perform high-level problem solving, oversee SOP development and review monthly financials. This role is ideal for a bookkeeping professional with strong leadership skills, extensive accounting knowledge, and a proven ability to oversee multiple client accounts and bookkeepers while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of bookkeeping experience within an accounting firm.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Bookkeeping Department
- Supervise, train, and mentor bookkeeping staff
- Review and approve bookkeeping work to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, credit card accounts, and loan accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow reporting.
- Monitor client deadlines and ensure timely completion of bookkeeping deliverables.
- Establish and improve departmental processes, workflows, and internal controls.
- Assist clients with accounting inquiries and provide financial reporting support.
- Collaborate with CPA partners to ensure accurate year-end reporting and tax preparation.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage city licensing applications, renewals, and regulatory compliance for clients
Qualifications
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification (current)
- Experience with Shopify and other 3rd party Sales Channel integrations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience managing multiple client accounts and deadlines
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop and Excel
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, using clearing accounts, and account reconciliations to outside payroll services
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
