For over 40 years, Harmony Farm Supply & Nursery has been a renowned locally owned establishment for organic farming and gardening expertise and supplies.
We have an immediate need for an Accounting Associate to join the team at our Sebastopol location. This is a full-time position that directly reports to the Accounting Manager and General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Accurate processing of vendor purchase orders and invoices, which includes matching and verifying receiving documents against vendor invoices
- Timely processing of Accounts Payable
- Communications with vendor’s Accounts Receivable personnel
- Filing paid invoices
- Balancing daily cash receipts
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel spreadsheets to prepare reports and maintain records
- Month-end close activities including journal entries
- Work closely with Accounting Manager and General Manager to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and continuous process improvement.
- General office support, including answering multi-line phone system
Success in this role will require:
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles or bookkeeping skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to follow through on tasks and projects with minimal supervision
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Diplomatic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to successfully focus on detail-oriented tasks
- Mindful error correction and problem solving
- Friendliness, and intelligence
- Good sense of humor
In addition, desired abilities include:
- Experience with accounting software
- Data analysis skills
- Knowledge of or interest in Agriculutre, Horticulture, Irrigation, or Landscaping
- Organic/Sustainable/Regenerative practices
