Medford After School has openings for After School Group Leaders.
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding afternoon job working with children? Do you have a hobby or area of expertise you’d like to share? Are you patient, flexible, energetic, and interested in making a difference in the lives of children and families?
MAS provides high quality after school programming within the Medford Public Schools. Students in the programs enjoy a range of enrichment activities including art, drama, dance, sports, cooperative games, science, literacy, free play and homework time.
Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders are responsible for the safety and well being of students in the program, planning and leading games and activities, providing general program supervision, and supporting social development.
These part-time positions are Monday through Friday, 2:00-5/5:30,
$20-$24/per hour.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is essential.
- 2 years experience working with children in a group setting.
Duties
- Supervise and manage a group of children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and skill development.
- Support children's academic growth through tutoring and homework assistance as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings such as childcare, camp leadership, or youth programs.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
