- Examine the work area often during the shift to maintain a safe work environment.
- Examine belts, escapeway, operating section, returns according to code
- Clean belts and feeders and work area
- Remove lodged material (but never while belt is moving)
- Examine and scale roof and ribs in accordance with law and policy
- Load conveyor by hand, lifts or hoists or by opening gates, chutes, and hoppers
- Maintain operation of belts to achieve safe and high production levels.
- Assist others as required
- Assemble conveyor sections
- Take action to repair belt splices
- Practice good housekeeping in assigned areas
