Overview: Under general supervision, the Electronics Technician, Maintenance II (ETM2) will perform a variety of complex electronics support work applying methods, techniques, and procedures. The incumbent will lead and train junior team members and liaises between government contracting officer/representatives and Akata's leadership team.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
- Must have five (5) or more years of electronics maintenance experience.
- Must have a background in mechanics, maintenance, and repair occupations.
- Moderate to intermediate understanding of electrical and electronic circuits, and establishment of testing methods for electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical devices and mechanisms is required.
- Valid (active) driver’s license is required.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to pass (and maintain) an extensive federal background screening, in order to gain access to this federal property/military base.
Fundamental/Essential Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain a wide range of electronics systems, including marine radar, UHF/VHF communications equipment, mass notification siren systems, highway information systems, seismic monitoring, long range HD camera systems, audio/visual systems, and more.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic systems and networks.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electronic equipment to ensure minimal downtown.
- Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
- Experience performing such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such s digital multimeters, communication analyzers, RF analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Must be capable of climbing communication towers and working at heights up to 200-feet and successfully pass a tower climbing certification course.
- Any/all (related) duties as assigned.
