Summary
The Labor Solutions Clerk provides administrative and scheduling support to the Labor Solutions team, helping ensure contractors and employees are efficiently coordinated to support events across the Javits Center. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Labor Solutions, this role serves as a primary point of contact for employee and contractor inquiries, maintains scheduling records, and supports payroll administration. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
The hiring rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Essential Functions
- Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, contractors, and internal departments while representing the Javits Center professionally.
- Notify employees of work assignments and schedule changes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Receive, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls and respond to general departmental inquiries.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical departmental records, files, and documentation.
- Compile, update, and maintain employee scheduling information, including data entry, verification, and distribution of contractor work assignments.
- Assist employees and contractors with scheduling and general administrative inquiries.
- Collect, review, and submit contractor payroll documentation for processing.
- Serve as a liaison between contractors and internal departments regarding payroll-related questions.
- Support the Labor Solutions team with administrative projects and other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, and contractor information.
- Adapt to changing operational needs in support of conventions, trade shows, and special events.
Special Conditions
- This position requires flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office or administrative support role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- College student or currently pursuing a degree preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
