Position Summary: We are seeking a forklift mechanic (not a forklift operator) We are seeing someone who has experience working on forklifts and troubleshooting. This is required for this position.
The Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment within the warehouse and outlying work areas. Perform repairs and routine scheduled maintenance on various types of warehouse mobile equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, floor scrubbers and sweepers. Possess mechanical skills in the following areas of electric and liquid propane powered systems.

Operational Excellence
· Operate test equipment to perform troubleshooting.
· Inspecting, assisting, maintaining, overhauling and repairing all material handling equipment.
· Perform periodic preventive maintenance on all warehouse equipment
· Dispose hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA procedures.
· Clean work area and equipment to maintain safety and maintenance in the facility.
· Submit daily paperwork to properly document repairs and PM's. Ensure all required information is accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
· Own and maintain sufficient hand tools to perform the job duties.
· Perform other duties as assigned or as situations dictate within the scope of the position.
-$35.50/hr - shift includes possible weekends and must be able to work either 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm
What You Will Bring:
· Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 65 pounds
· Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing more than 65 pounds
· Frequently bend and stoop (50+ times per hour)
· Frequently climb on and off equipment, including forklifts
· Walk and/or stand on concrete surfaces for approximately eight hours per day
· Safely operate a variety of mobile equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts
· Work in varying temperatures ranging from approximately 20°F to 90°F+, including damp conditions
· Meet current and evolving productivity and performance standards

This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Distribution Center in Jessup, MD.
