Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including transmissions and diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs and wheel alignments to enhance safety and handling.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools skillfully for repairs ranging from minor adjustments to major overhauls.
- Service vehicle electrical systems, including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), to ensure modern safety features function correctly.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and communicate repair needs clearly with customers to foster excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools, schematics, and electrical systems is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including powertrain, transmissions, suspension systems, and vehicle systems overall.
- Experience with GM vehicles or similar brands is preferred but not required.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately and perform complex repairs such as welding or diesel engine work.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment.
- Valid mechanic experience with a commitment to safety standards and quality workmanship.
