The Assistant Professor of Nutrition is a tenure-track faculty position within the Department of Nutrition, Hospitality & Human Services. This role is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition across multiple modalities, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting program accreditation requirements. The faculty member is expected to maintain an active research and scholarly agenda, including mentoring student research, disseminating findings, and pursuing external funding. In addition, the position provides academic advising and mentorship to students, contributes to program and departmental initiatives, and engages in service at the department, college, university, and professional levels.

Key Competencies:

The ability to translate knowledge into essential practice skills for entry-level nutritionists and registered dietitian nutritionists.

Provide instruction in nutrition courses across modalities (in-person, hybrid, and online).

Develop/revise online applied nutrition courses utilizing the Quality Matters review process.

Participate in planning, review, and evaluation of bachelor’s and master’s programs, including certificates and concentrations.

Develop, implement, and monitor student performance outcomes through assessment.

Advise and mentor nutrition students.

Collaborate with other departments and units across campus.

Report curriculum and course issues to appropriate program coordinators; report all other issues to the Department Chair.

Serve on Departmental, College, and University committees as assigned.
