Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Part-Time Kitchen Staff member to join our sushi stand located inside a busy supermarket in West Los Angeles. This is a fast-paced food service environment focused on fresh preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
No prior sushi experience is required — we are willing to train the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with food, learns quickly, and thrives in a team setting.
Responsibilities
* Assist with basic food preparation and sushi assembly (training provided)
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
* Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
* Support daily operations including prep, stocking, and closing duties
* Provide friendly and efficient service when interacting with customers (if applicable)
* Work efficiently during busy peak hours in a fast-paced environment
* Follow instructions from lead staff and management
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required
* Willingness to learn sushi preparation and kitchen operations
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Reliable, punctual, and responsible
* Basic knife handling skills are a plus
* Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
Schedule & Pay
* Part-time: up to 24 hours per week (or more - negotiable)
* Flexible weekday schedule (to be discussed)
* Starting pay: $18/hour
* Pay increase available after training period
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
