American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a critical care travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience and an active Hawaii RN license.

Critical care ICU setting with 11 beds

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1

Patient population requires direct ICU-level care

Meditech EMR in use

Varied shift schedule — day or night shift determined per roster period based on staffing needs

Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours) per week following the first week of orientation

Two 12-hour on-call shifts required per 4-week roster period
-
Floating to other critical care and step-down units as needed

Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required — candidates may submit existing certification or complete the 45-minute online course during orientation

Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required

Direct patient care within the last 3 years required

PALS preferred

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment — this appointment is held at the Hilo Employee Health office and attendance is mandatory

Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning

One week of orientation provided, up to 40 hours
