Books to Kids Mission
Our mission is to connect children of historically underserved communities with high-quality, diverse literature and their creators in an effort to cultivate a community where all children are excited about reading and feel inspired to become the next generation of creators.
Books to Kids, Inc is a Denver, CO based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to increasing our community’s literacy and love of books.
Purpose
The Impact Director collaborates with community partners, volunteers, and board members to oversee and execute Books to Kids programming, fundraising, and marketing efforts. This role serves as a key leader within the organization, directly reporting to the president of the board.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, plan, and grow the Creator Visit Program with the goal of engaging diverse and underserved populations in order to further Books to Kids’ mission
- Communicate and coordinate with community partner businesses to ensure the
- Engage with existing and new community partner locations with the aim of expanding the reach and impact of Books to Kids programming
- Develop and grow additional programs that closely align with the organization’s mission
- Plan and execute fundraising and awareness-increasing events
- Monitor and analyze donor contributions with the aim of increasing donations
- Build and systematize volunteer program with the aim of expanding Books to Kids’ impact throughout the local area
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and best practices, contributing to the organization’s sustainability and long-term impact
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Successful track record in planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with board members, donors, and community partners
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to analyze complex situations and make sound executive decisions
- Proficient in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Wix web design platform
- Proficient in social media platforms including Instagram
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
- The Impact Director will work remotely approximately 90% of the time, with the other 10% requiring in-person attendance at events and/or meetings
- This role requires flexibility, including the ability to work evenings and weekends to support events or other time-sensitive organizational needs.
- Occasional travel within the local area may be required to attend meetings, visit partner sites, collect materials from community partner stores, or coordinate events
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for event setup and logistics
- Reliable access to transportation is necessary for attending in-person events and meetings
Pay: $25.00 per hour
