Buyer - Temporary Position
General Description:
Procures raw materials, components, tooling, equipment and purchases services at the appropriate quality, lowest price and within acceptable time frames by performing the following duties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Purchases raw material, tooling and components for custom and standard inventory as well as materials, and equipment needed for day to day operations.
· Builds and maintains good business vendor relationships, and seeks out new or alternate vendors as required.
· Establishes and maintains raw material inventory and performs periodically random check of quantities to ensure accuracy.
· Prepares and mails complete and accurate purchase orders according to company guidelines.
· Expedites and follows up purchase orders as requested.
· Resolves order and billing discrepancies in coordination with accounting and vendors, and responds to inquiries on any material received.
· Coordinates and participates in physical inventory on an annual basis.
· Prepares and transmits requests for quotes for items to be purchased via telephone, fax and mail.
· Ensures vendors can provide products that meet the necessary internal technical requirements.
· Processes returned purchased items that are not acceptable or do not meet specifications.
· Interfaces with management concerning new products, and forecasts for new and existing products.
· Maintains purchasing library to include paper/computer files and purchasing history files.
· Initiates and distributes change notices for purchased items such as changes in specifications, part numbers and sources.
· Interfaces with Shipping/Receiving Department regarding incoming and outgoing shipments on a daily basis.
· Attends and participates in meetings to ensure customer requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Min 3-4 years experience in a purchasing / planning role in a build to order environment
- AS-9102
- Detail orientated, works well under pressure to produce results, and demonstrate self-starting ability
- Strong planning, leadership, analytical, communication, and follow-through skills are required.
- Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Electro-mechanical product experience and an understanding of technical drawings and specifications is desired
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) system required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen.
Pay: $32.00 per hour
