We are seeking a highly skilled Field Support Specialist to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of industrial machinery at client locations. This role demands a strong foundation in electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, coupled with the ability to diagnose and resolve intricate issues in demanding field environments. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to proactively assess equipment conditions, mitigate potential failures, and provide valuable technical support to our clients.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electromechanical issues on industrial equipment.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate effective troubleshooting and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and provide support for PLC-based control systems, including HMIs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Conduct I/O checks, analyze faults, verify parameters, and perform basic program diagnostics on PLC and HMI systems.
- Ensure new equipment is properly commissioned through mechanical alignment, electrical verification, safety checks, and functional testing.
- Restore equipment to optimal condition by repairing or replacing defective components and assemblies.
- Provide detailed documentation of all service activities, including service reports, failure analysis, and parts usage.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or automation-related field.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in servicing industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, control panels, and industrial wiring practices.
- Practical knowledge of PLC platforms, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot control systems, sensors, motors, drives, and safety circuits.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
