Responsibilities:
- Coordinate surgical procedures and appointments for patients
- Schedule surgeries, pre-operative appointments, and post-operative follow-ups
- Communicate with patients to provide information about their surgical procedures and answer any questions they may have
- Obtain necessary medical records and documentation for surgical procedures
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of surgical services
- Manage and update patient records in the electronic medical record system (ModMed)
- Provide administrative support to the surgical team as needed
Skills:
- Previous experience as a surgical coordinator
- Proficiency in using phone systems and handling high call volumes
- Strong knowledge of medical administrative support functions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgical services
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience working with electronic medical record systems, preferably Modmed
