Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fabricator/Structural Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling structural components with precision and adherence to safety standards.. You will also have diverse workflow with custom fabrication and repairs. Your expertise will help ensure the integrity and durability of everything from small repairs to large-scale projects, from steel frameworks to complex metal structures. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble structural components.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques on various metals including sheet metal, pipe, and ductwork.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and press brake machines to cut, shape, measure, and assemble metal parts with precision.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, plasma cutters, and machining tools safely and efficiently on construction sites or fabrication shops.
- Conduct fabrication tasks such as pipe threading, soldering, assembly of structural elements, and mechanical fitting while adhering to ASME codes & standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by following safety protocols; perform routine inspections of welds using schematics and basic math calculations for quality assurance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and engineering specifications.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a strong background in structural welding projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding processes; experience with welding is a plus.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Hands-on experience operating power tools such as press brakes, plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and hand tools in a fabrication or construction environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including rigging, pipe threading, machining, soldering, ductwork installation, and assembly procedures.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship standards.
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards related to structural welding; ability to follow detailed technical instructions accurately.
