Centro Medico Community Clinic is seeking a Optometrist. Part-Time and Full-Time positions available.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This includes conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual impairments and ocular diseases, prescribing corrective lenses, and providing patient education on eye health and proper eye care.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, binocular vision, and ocular health
- Diagnose and treat various visual impairments and ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses based on individual patient needs
- Provide patient education on proper eye care practices, including the use of protective eyewear and the importance of regular eye exams
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage patients with complex ocular conditions or systemic diseases affecting the eyes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Stay current with advancements in optometry through continuing education and professional development
Experience:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Experience in ophthalmology or specialized areas such as pediatrics or geriatrics is preferred
- Knowledge of medical coding and terminology related to optometry
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records
