Staff Accountant – General Contractor
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing construction team. This position is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in construction accounting and financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post recurring and accrual journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Process cash applications and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Follow up on outstanding customer balances and assist with collections.
- Prepare and submit monthly construction draw applications to clients.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit requests and other accounting projects as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and billing.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 0–3 years of accounting experience; internships or relevant coursework considered.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in the construction industry and construction accounting.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
