Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly demeanor, creating a positive first impression
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and precision
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Manage multiple tables with excellent time management skills to ensure timely service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support as needed in a fast-paced environment
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Support restaurant operations during busy nights or special events like nightclub evenings or private parties
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for reservations and order processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Culinary experience or understanding of food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
- Effective time management to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours
- Upselling techniques to promote menu items and increase sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for billing, and inventory management
- Experience with serving in high-energy environments
- Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, hosts/hostesses, and management to deliver seamless service
