Duties
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, credit card, mobile payment, and other forms of payment with precision and integrity.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and assisting with product demos when needed.
- Upsell complementary products or services to enhance the customer’s purchase experience and increase sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area; stock shelves and assist with merchandising to ensure product displays are appealing.
- Manage the cash drawer responsibly, perform basic math calculations for transactions, and balance register at shift end.
- Support inventory management through stocking, inventory counts, and assisting with product placement to optimize store presentation.
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is advantageous.
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Strong communication skills and phone etiquette are essential for engaging customers professionally.
- Previous experience in grocery stores or retail environments involving merchandising, upselling, or product demos is beneficial.
- Supervising experience or leadership roles in retail settings are valued for potential growth opportunities.
