Overview:
This position works under direct supervision while using MIG welders to assemble steel products to job order specifications and documents production data. Following job orders/blueprints is key in performing all responsibilities. The team member will be required to follow and meet safety and quality standards while maintaining production.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures
- Performs ordinary welding for mechanical strength in all positions
- Assembles and tack-welds steel frames and other component parts of machinery and equipment in preparation for final welding
- Able produce strong, penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent
- Uses locating fixtures and positions; straighten and flatten when necessary
- Understanding of the fabricating process
- Reads and understands drawings and welding symbols
- Utilizes quality checks to meet product standards
- Able to read a tape measure and blueprints
- Able to practice 5S within assigned area
- Able to maintain standard production times while maintaining quality work
- Any other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- MIG and stick welding vocation training preferred but not required
- Preferred experience in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is preferred, as is general mechanical knowledge
- Willing to use air, power and hand tools, especially a torch and grinder
