Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Tree Trimmer/Groundsperson and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, beautiful, and safe urban landscapes. Duties
- Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using hand tools and power equipment such as chainsaws and rigging gear
- Operate bucket trucks safely to access elevated tree branches for trimming or removal
- Support arborists with rigging and climbing tasks to ensure safe and efficient tree care operations
- Conduct landscape maintenance including lawn care, planting, mulching, and general site cleanup
- Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to help map and document tree locations and health status
- Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment like bucket trucks and chainsaws before use
- Support plant care activities such as pruning with knowledge of dendrology (study of trees) and horticulture best practices
Skills
- Strong knowledge of tree care techniques including pruning, trimming, and plant health assessment
- Experience operating bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment safely
- Ability to perform rigging tasks for lifting heavy limbs or materials securely
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools for landscape planning or asset management
- Growing experience in horticulture or landscape maintenance preferred
- Basic understanding of land surveying or landscape architecture concepts beneficial
- Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general gardening practices
