We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs to ensure safe treatment procedures.
- Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and applying topical anesthetics.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment plans to foster long-term health habits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety.
- Support general dentistry procedures through four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and charting details.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting.
- Familiarity with dental assisting tasks, chairside assisting, and dental terminology is essential.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is preferred to effectively care for pediatric patients.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards, HIPAA regulations, and anatomy knowledge related to oral health.
- Ability to perform patient care with compassion while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
