Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. This role requires a blend of medical knowledge, technical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist ophthalmologists in conducting eye exams and diagnostic tests
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients on eye care procedures and post-treatment instructions
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic equipment
- Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up appointments
Skills:
- Proficiency in ophthalmology procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with medical office operations
- Understanding of optical principles and equipment
- Adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Strong anatomy and physiology knowledge
- Ability to provide excellent patient care with empathy and professionalism
