CAREGIVER ENROLLMENT & TRAINING SPECIALIST (PEAT) – SEVILLE PLAZA LOCATION
Reports To: Caregiver Caregiver Enrollment & Training Supervisor

Salary Range: $46,779.20 to $62,732.80
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Caregiver Enrollment & Training Supervisor, and as a member of a team, this position processes IHSS caregiver paperwork and assists with the in-person enrollment sessions and trainings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Verifies the validity of identification documents and ensures all required forms were accurately completed and submitted.
- Explains program regulations, requirements, and responsibilities to caregiver applicants.
- Manages a high volume of inbound phone calls and follows up as necessary.
- Assists caregivers by resolving concerns and troubleshooting issues.
- Processes eligibility determinations, issue’s State of California (SOC) notices, prepares correspondence, prioritizes work
- Creates, organizes, and maintains various caregiver records and files, both electronic and paper.
- May assist in determining the validity of legal right-to-work documents and/or minor work permits.
- Assists PEAT Coordinators in monitoring enrollment session activities to ensure safety, security, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable organizational and regulatory requirements in-person and online.
- Provides peer-to-peer training and guidance to new hires; trains caregivers on enrollment and payroll-related matters, interpreting and explaining rules and policies.
- Assists in preparing and sending electronic and hard copy enrollment packets.
- Processes caregiver workweek and travel time agreement forms and provide additional training to caregivers completing travel timesheets. Maintains and updates Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) by scanning or importing caregiver documents.
- Coordinates live scan fingerprints and re-rolls with caregivers, co-workers, and live scan representatives.
- Processes daily reports and verifies that applicant caregivers have submitted all required enrollment documents and have completed all pre-employment requirements before attending the enrollment session.
- Serves as a mandated reporter and reports suspected abuse to Adult Protective Services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
INTERACTION
Continuously interacts with the Caregiver Enrollment & Training department, other Public Authority and IHSS staff, caregivers, recipient’s, vendors, caregiver union, and the public.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience in a Human Services or Human Resources field or an Associate of Arts degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience in the Human Services/Human Resources field or a combination of education and experience that provides the candidate with the necessary background to perform the requirements of the position.

- Ability to communicate fluently in English is required. The ability to communicate fluently in Spanish or another second language is desirable.
- Knowledge of business English (including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary) and the ability to prepare simple to complex written correspondence and reports
- Knowledge of clerical, office, and record-keeping procedures, including alphabetic, numeric, subject, and chronological indexing and filing rules and systems
- Ability to pay attention to detail when creating, updating, and accurately maintaining records, reports, and documents, reviewing, and verifying information, and resolving errors and discrepancies discovered in the course of work
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with IHSS recipients, co-workers, and members of the public to include persons of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Ability to think logically, analytically, and exercise appropriate judgement to evaluate and resolve problems, make decisions, and recommend courses of action
- Ability to organize, follow directions, manage time, and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of general office procedures and protocols
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of a Department of Justice criminal background check and a federal debarment and exclusion list review, possession of a valid class C California driver’s license, and the ability to provide proof of current automobile insurance. May travel to different locations throughout the county to oversee the caregiver enrollment process and conduct enrollment sessions. Requires the use of personal vehicle.

Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus and view information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Additional assistance and/or support must be obtained for lifting or carrying more than 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The hybrid work environment varies between an office setting and remote working from home. Travel using a personal vehicle throughout San Diego County may be required. Work schedule may vary based on business needs.
