Director of Membership Development: City Club of Greenville
Located in the heart of downtown Greenville, the City Club of Greenville is where business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community changemakers connect, entertain, and build relationships. As part of the BNG Hospitality family of clubs, the City Club blends the traditions of private club life with a modern, energetic approach to hospitality and member engagement.
We are seeking an experienced and driven sales professional to serve as our Director of Membership Development. This role is responsible for generating membership growth, cultivating relationships within the community, and helping shape the future of one of Greenville’s premier private clubs.
A unique highlight of this position is the opportunity to build relationships with many of the individuals leading Greenville’s business, civic, and philanthropic communities. This role offers direct exposure to high profile executives, entrepreneurs, elected officials, and influential members throughout the market.
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to execute the responsibilities below while contributing positively to the culture and growth of the Club.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct market research, synthesize findings, and work with senior leadership to shape membership growth strategy.
- Develop and execute comprehensive plans to generate a strong prospect pipeline and achieve membership sales goals.
- Maintain active involvement in the Greenville community to represent and promote the Club.
- Build relationships with business leaders, organizations, and referral sources to drive membership growth.
- Consistently develop creative strategies to identify and engage new member prospects through market analysis and networking.
- Lead prospective member tours, presentations, and follow up communications.
- Execute new member communication campaigns designed to increase engagement and member referrals.
- Work with senior leadership to support marketing initiatives including social media, website content, events, and outreach campaigns.
- Ensure prompt and professional follow up with all prospective member inquiries and leads.
- Maintain accurate membership reporting, pipeline management, and CRM data.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and execution of all company programs and initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to develop and enhance the new member onboarding experience.
- Assist in creating and implementing membership retention strategies.
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings and sales reviews.
- Represent the Club at networking functions, business events, and community activities.
- Maintain strong organization, time management, and self accountability while working independently.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of business development, hospitality sales, or membership sales experience preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Private club membership sales experience preferred
- Strong networking and relationship building skills
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Self motivated with strong organizational and follow through abilities
- Professional communication and presentation skills
- Management or leadership experience preferred
- Formal sales training is a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
