Lead Event Cook & Kitchen ManagerAbout Bloomstead Farms
Bloomstead Farms is a flower farm and event destination in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. We host farm-to-table dinners, seasonal celebrations, private events, and our annual Dahlia Festival. We are seeking a dependable, organized Lead Event Cook & Kitchen Manager to help execute exceptional food experiences for our guests.
This position works closely with our Events Director and is responsible for leading kitchen operations during prep and service, ensuring food quality, organization, and food safety standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menus developed by the Events Director
- Lead kitchen prep and food production for farm dinners, special events, and catering functions
- Supervise kitchen assistants and event food service staff
- Ensure food is prepared and served according to quality standards and timelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Follow and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with inventory organization, receiving deliveries, and stock rotation
- Coordinate with event staff to ensure smooth service during events
- Assist with event setup, execution, and cleanup as needed
- Help create a positive and professional kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen, catering operation, restaurant, school, healthcare, or hospitality setting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Experience supervising kitchen staff preferred
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to lift 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule
- Seasonal position beginning July 2026
- Flexible hours with increased hours during event season
- Evening and weekend availability required
Compensation
- $22-24 per hour depending on experience
