Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver and embark on an exciting journey delivering freight across long distances. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across diverse routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or roll-off trucks, adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Manage route driving schedules, maintaining punctuality and optimizing delivery times
- Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit, especially when handling freight on flatbeds or tanker loads
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery details and address any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and deliveries in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and recent experience in commercial driving, including route driving and load & unload operations
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various trailer types such as refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Experience with freight handling equipment like forklifts is preferred but not mandatory; training provided if needed
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads during loading/unloading processes
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking, cargo securement, and transportation laws
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, clients, and team members
- Flexibility to travel long distances over extended periods while maintaining high safety standards
