JOB This position is located within the Reno, NV EmployNV Business Hub. Workforce Services Representatives provide a broad range of services in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; assist job seeking customers and business customers seeking qualified applicants; and provide priority employment services to eligible veterans and disabled veterans as defined by the Department of Labor. This recruitment is for a Workforce Services Representative 1, underfill for WSR 2. The incumbent will progress to the next level upon meeting minimum qualifications and the approval of the appointing authority. The position works with office staff and businesses to fulfill their recruiting needs by reviewing and posting job vacancies, perform job matching, screen job candidates’ knowledge, skills and abilities, monitor employer job sites for vacancies, and help with other duties as assigned. Incumbents will assist with various business recruitment activities. This position may be required to work hours outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of general work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Knowledge of: English grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary and composition; customer service techniques; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; telephone techniques and etiquette; record- keeping and filing methods.
Skill in: operating a personal computer to enter, retrieve and process data.
Ability to: read, comprehend and apply written policies and procedures to specific situations; perform basic mathematical computations including the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers; compose basic business communications and document interviews; interview customers to gather accurate factual information; interact effectively with customers of diverse backgrounds; compare information and identify similarities, differences and inconsistencies; accurately copy, post or transcribe information from one source to another; explain program services, policies and requirements; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public; understand and follow verbal and written directions.
