What You'll Do
As a Billing & AR Specialist, you'll play a key role in managing the revenue cycle and ensuring timely reimbursement for services provided.
Responsibilities include:
- Process, review, and submit accurate insurance claims using EMR/EHR systems
- Review documentation to ensure proper CPT and ICD-10 coding and billing accuracy
- Perform insurance follow-up on unpaid or underpaid claims
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies with insurance carriers
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure complete documentation
- Post Medicare and commercial insurance payments from ERA and EOBs
- Post patient payments and maintain accurate account balances
- Generate and send monthly patient statements
- Perform accounts receivable follow-up and collections while maintaining excellent customer service
- Complete pre-billing review and claim submission
- Reconcile daily deposits, balance end-of-day journals, and assist with month-end reporting
- Maintain accurate billing records and stay current on insurance regulations and billing guidelines
- Patient phone calls regarding account balance

What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 1-2 years of medical billing and accounts receivable experience--
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology, including proper use of modifiers.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR and practice management systems
- Greenway Intergy and/or Modernizing Medicine experience is a plus
- Experience with insurance claims, denials, appeals, and collections
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, and healthcare billing regulations
- Insurance verification and benefits knowledge

Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour
