MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Completion of electrical vocational training.

Two (2) years of experience as an electrician.

Journeyman Electrician license.

Valid Florida drivers license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

Four (4) years of experience as an electrician.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.

Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.

Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.

Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.

Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

Install, alter, maintain, and repair various electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and appliances.

Lay out work, estimate costs, and requisition materials for assigned work orders.

Diagnose/troubleshoot problems with electrical systems.

Operate equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.

Upgrade electrical systems to meet the needs of new technology.

Compile with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
-
Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
