Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Radiologic Technologist on a travel contract, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services across diverse clinical settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in medical imaging, emergency medicine, and specialized radiology procedures. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of imaging examinations, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to radiation safety protocols. Your skills will directly contribute to accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care in fast-paced environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers.
Duties
- Operate advanced imaging equipment including X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology procedures.
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures with precision, ensuring high-quality images for accurate clinical evaluation.
- Assist in emergency room settings and trauma centers by providing urgent care imaging support for critically injured patients.
- Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff during all imaging procedures.
- Conduct specialized imaging exams such as sonography, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine studies with attention to detail.
- Maintain thorough documentation of procedures, patient information, and equipment operation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to facilitate diagnostic evaluation and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in diagnostic radiology with proficiency in X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging principles.
- Prior experience working in emergency room settings or Level I/II trauma centers is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate complex medical equipment safely and effectively while implementing radiation safety standards.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices during invasive procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients about procedures.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) required; additional certifications such as sonography or mammography are advantageous.
