Night Shift
Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care for residents following established standards and practices. Help to maintain a cheerful homelike atmosphere. Supervisor to nurse’s aides and shower aide. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting residents, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires repetitive stooping and lifting. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries residents or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, toxic substances and other situations common to a nursing home.
Job Tasks:
1. Performs general nursing care to residents.
2. Supervises care given by nurse’s aide, certified medicine technician to 30-60 residents on his/her shift.
3. Evaluates present and future needs of residents. Through consultation with nurse’s aide and regular rounds.
4. Gathers information pertaining to residents and relates that information to the Doctor, Director of Nurses, Assistant Director of Nursing and/or the Administrator as necessary.
5. Assist in transfers and moves of residents an average of 10-20 times per shift.
6. Consults with dietary supervisor pertaining to nutritional needs of residents.
7. Visit with residents daily to assess them and maintain an open line of communication.
8. Maintain nursing equipment and supplies to ensure that equipment and supplies are on hand, clean and in good working condition.
9. Order appropriate medication refills.
10. Complete resident narcotic count book and E-kit lock box.
11. Maintain EMAR on residents including all phases of care given (medications, treatments, personal care, meals, ect).
12. Greet families and consult with them as necessary pertaining to residents’ condition.
13. Oversees Doctor’s orders (monthly, weekly, daily) and sees that they are carried out properly.
14. Supervise cleanliness of hall and proper working condition of all working equipment daily (bed, drawers, closets).
15. Attend meeting and participate in committees as requested.
16. Assist the Director of Nurses as required with specific needs of the home.
17. Assist in training of nurse’s aides.
18. Assist in writing monthly summaries PRN.
19. Be familiar with and comply with all regulations of the state and personnel policies of Monroe Manor.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.50 per hour
