Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Support medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to assist with mobility and prevent injury during transfers.
- Document care activities accurately in patient records and update care plans regularly to reflect evolving needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or obtainable upon hire.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and patience.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions is advantageous.
