Position Summary
The Glass Cutter will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, and preparing glass products to precise specifications for installation and fabrication projects. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience working with various types of glass, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, score, cut, and shape glass according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and shop drawings.
- Operate glass-cutting equipment and fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Assist with glass edging, polishing, drilling, and other fabrication processes.
- Load, unload, and handle glass materials safely to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with installers and team members to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional glass cutting and fabrication experience.
- Strong knowledge of glass types, cutting techniques, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read measurements accurately and perform basic math calculations.
- Experience using glass-cutting tools, machinery, and shop equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy glass materials safely.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- OSHA or safety training is a plus.
