Overview
We are is seeking two experienced Seasonal Cooks (Independent Contractors) to support food service operations at a Lodge in Kaktovik, Alaska.
These positions are primarily responsible for preparing and serving one of two shift services while providing operational coverage during scheduled staff breaks, days off, and peak lodge activity periods. Contractors must be comfortable working in a remote Arctic environment and capable of maintaining high food quality and cleanliness standards with limited supervision.

Responsibilities
· Prepare and serve 1st shift: breakfast and lunch or 2nd shift: dinner meals in accordance with lodge standards.
· Provide kitchen coverage during scheduled staff breaks, days off, and other operational requirements.
· Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control.
· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
· Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and proper food storage.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
· Accommodate dietary restrictions and special meal requests when possible.
· Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries and supplies.
· Coordinate with lodge management and fellow kitchen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant, lodge, resort, camp, catering operation, or similar hospitality environment.
· Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team.
· Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in remote lodges, camps, resorts, or seasonal hospitality operations.
· Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain prior to arrival).
· Experience preparing meals for groups and accommodating dietary restrictions.
