Position Description
We have an open position for a Commercial Fire Sprinkler Journeyman . This position will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads, and control valves in commercial buildings to ensure fire life systems are compliant with safety standards and regulations.
Job Duties:
- Must have at least 3+ years of experience as a journeyman level fire sprinkler installer/fitter in new construction and commercial projects.
- Interpret blueprints and design specifications
- Ability to use hand and power tools to perform pipefitting and welding.
- Adherence to and understanding of the local, state, and national fire codes such as CFC, CBC, NFPA, and AHJ local requirements.
- Collaboration with other trades, Project Managers, and General Contractors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during installations.
- Clear communication with managers, team and other trades to support a collaborative work environment towards meeting project deadlines.
- Promote a team environment, safety, and assist in the sharing of knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, foreseeing obstacles and challenges with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements:
- Current CalFire Fitter Card
- 3+ years as journeyman level fire sprinkler installer in commercial projects.
- Completion of a fire sprinkler apprenticeship program.
- Professional, dependable and reliable.
- Great organizational and communications skills.
- Familiar with construction management software.
- Must have good driving record and valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 10/30 required prior to first day of employment.
