Position Summary
Portsmouth Christian Academy (PCA) is a large, nondenominational Christian school located in Dover,
NH. PCA, located just minutes northwest of Portsmouth, NH on a nearly sixty-acre riverfront campus, is
a dually accredited, independent, Christian, college-preparatory, day school for students in preschool
through grade twelve seeking to maximize their God-given potential. PCA faculty and staff are unified in
creating a caring, safe, Christ-focused learning environment where young people are challenged to
thrive academically and grow as servant-leaders prepared to impact the world for good.
The part-time Band Assistant will aid in grades 4-8 band and occasionally 9-12 instrumental groups. The
assistant must have a strong background in music literacy and performing and/or teaching and a music
setting and be proficient in at least one band instrument. Knowledge and ability to play multiple
instruments is a plus. Duties would include sectionals during large ensemble, assisting in the percussion
or other sections, and administrative duties as needed for the band program. The position is for an
average of 9 hours a week, with more during concert weeks as needed. There is also the option to teach
private lessons through the Kaleidoscope program.
