POSITION SUMMARY
The Class A Intermodal & Regional Driver is responsible for transportation, delivery, logistics, warehouse, inventory, and operational support activities for Eternity Flooring Solutions. Duties may include port pickups, customer deliveries, transfer runs, interstate transportation, regional routes, warehouse operations, inventory support, loading and unloading, and other transportation-related functions as assigned.
Drivers are expected to operate safely, comply with all DOT, FMCSA, state, and company requirements, follow route assignments, and support business operations as needed. Work assignments may vary based on customer demand, staffing levels, seasonal workloads, branch requirements, and operational needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform local, regional, intermodal, and interstate deliveries, including port pickups, container transportation, and transfer runs between company branches, warehouses, ports, and customer locations.
- Safely operate Class A and Class B commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and company requirements, following routes, schedules, and equipment assignments established by management.
- Load, unload, stage, secure, and verify flooring products and related materials using appropriate equipment and procedures, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Collect and complete all required documentation including delivery paperwork, customer signatures, COD payments, driver logs, ELD and Samsara records, inspection reports, and fuel records.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns to fleet management.
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch, fleet management, warehouse personnel, branch management, and customers; represent the company professionally at all times.
- Support warehouse and branch operations as needed, including receiving, shipping, order pulling, inventory control, cycle counts, product staging, and facility organization.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and compliance activities as required.
- Perform other transportation, logistics, warehouse, and operations-related duties as assigned.
TRAVEL AND ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Local, regional, interstate, and overnight assignments may be required based on business needs.
- Overnight stays in company equipment may be required.
- Drivers may be assigned routes to ports, customer locations, warehouses, branch locations, distribution facilities, or other destinations as determined by management.
- Route assignments, schedules, work locations, equipment assignments, and operational duties may change based on customer demand, staffing levels, and business requirements.
- Participation in assigned driver rotation schedules is an expected responsibility of the position.
- Employees must be willing and able to work varying schedules, locations, routes, shifts, and assignments based on operational needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and all required endorsements.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to meet all DOT and FMCSA qualification requirements.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles, trailers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment, or obtain required certifications.
- Ability to read, understand, and complete shipping documents, bills of lading, delivery paperwork, inspection reports, and related documentation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles safely and repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to load, unload, move, handle, and transport flooring products and related materials with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
