Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Summary
The Moench Center for Church Leadership (MCCL) is seeking a creative and driven Belmont student to serve as a Communications and Content Assistant – a paid, part-time role at the intersection of church leadership and creative media. This paid opportunity provides a unique training ground for a student to contribute meaningfully to the MCCL through social media content creation, podcast development (The Hopeful Church Podcast), and online resource libraries. This position provides practical experience in content strategy, social media marketing, podcast production, analytics, and professional storytelling.
The MCCL is an initiative of the School of Theology and Christian Ministry, directed by Dr. Darrell Gwaltney. The MCCL exists to strengthen church leaders for a changing world through innovative grant-funded programs, leadership coaching, events, and more. This role would primarily support two core grant-funded initiatives of MCCL: Nashville Preaching Cooperative and Engaging Healthy Congregations.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in weekly podcast and social media clip editing at the direction of the Grant Coordinator
Assist in creating concepts and scripts for new social media content, contributing overall to the brand identity and mission of the Moench Center for Church Leadership
Assist in social media video shoots
Assist in virtual podcast recording sessions
Update weekly social media analytics, observe trends, and report findings and strategies to Grant Coordinator
Participate in regular 1-on-1 development meetings with the Grant Coordinator to sharpen skills
Write informed, well-researched blog posts designed to add value to the MCCL audience and drive traffic to the MCCL website (as needed)
Provide support (set up/tear down/etc) for MCCL events (as needed)
Other duties as assigned

Hours
8-10 hours/week
Note: this role will be “hybrid,” where many tasks can be completed remotely and with flexible hours, however, tasks such as event support and filming days will be in-person.

Work Conditions:
This position is primarily computer- and office-based but may occasionally require assisting with event setup and teardown, standing for extended periods during events, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
Required Education
Graduate Student Worker preferred, but will consider undergraduate with the right skill set.
Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University. Students from theology or creative programs (photography, motion pictures, audio engineering, graphic design, etc.) are especially encouraged to apply, but all majors are welcome to apply.
Ideal Candidate Will Be:
Interested in church leadership, ministry, non-profit communications, or faith-based storytelling
Curious, creative, and self-directed
Open to feedback and willing to grow through experimentation
Possess excellent oral and digital communication skills
Proficient with consumer and professional creative software - including but not limited to Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut, Logic Pro, and more (preferred)
Have experience capturing photo or video (preferred)
Embody strong organizational skills
Motivated to consistently meet deadlines
